I'm a researcher, lecturer, writer and speaker in finance, spending most of my time reveling in an unhealthy obsession with the opacity of Private Equity and Venture Capital markets and fighting (verbally, naturally) believers in crypto and non-believers in ESG.

My research is published in a variety of academic journals. Since these are not exactly 'mainstream', I try and make my work more accessible to a wider audience by speaking at conferences whenever I can, collaborating with industry partners as often as possible, writing more prosaic pieces such as book chapters or op-eds, and trying to badger journalists into covering my work whenever they let me.

As a staunch believer in free capital markets, I have been keenly involved in a variety of pro bono advisory projects in the area of capital market regulation, mainly to fight regulation, for government bodies in Germany, the UK and the UAE.

A year-long sabbatical in which I successfully failed my own London-based FinTech startup is generally not mentioned in my short bio. In my free time, I enjoy running my Dubai-based private equity fund.
