Whenever the opportunity presents itself, I enjoy working with journalists to help spread the word on topics I work on and that might be of relevance to a more mainstream audience. Framing my work in a more accessible way for articles or op-eds also doubles as a nice sanity check to see if something I cooked up in my ivory tower has any relevance to the 'real' world.

(An added benefit is that it's easier to get students excited about my work when they get an FT article to read for class prep instead of a journal article).
